About Us
United Chambers of the San Fernando Valley and Region is a coalition of 19 Member Chambers, representing over 154,000 businesses Valley Wide. United Chambers is a non-profit mutual benefit corporation whose roots go back to the turn of the century when business first began to spring up in the Valley. United Chambers deals with Valley-wide, County-wide and Regional issues and promotes the San Fernando Valley’s overall welfare, progress and economic prosperity. We also advocate on businesses behalf on a State and Federal level for the good of all business. United Chambers encourages the development of new business ventures in the community, and supports the existing commercial base. Additionally, United Chambers provides a network of communication among chambers, businesses and government to amplify local concerns. A variety of predecessor alliances came together in 1977 to form the current United Chambers. This unity provides a combined source of strength to each Chamber, while preserving each community’s autonomy and sense of locality. The United Chambers manifests its presence in the community through a variety of activities. These activities include business advocacy, educational and networking activities.
A representative sample of our events would include: Annual Mayor’s Luncheon: This event which was first held in 2005, provides a forum for the Mayor of Los Angeles to address the United Chambers and provide an annual update as to mayoral strategies for the City of Los Angeles. Annual Business Recognition and Installation event: This event serves to both install the Board of Directors and to award individual business for their contributions to the community. Small, Medium and Large business are selected and individually honored for their community involvement. Additionally, a single individual is awarded the Tami Ginsburg Award for outstanding and selfless service to the community. Inspirational Women in Business: This event provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding women who have made a significant contribution to life in the San Fernando Valley. Small Business Awards Breakfast: This event presents an award to an outstanding small business member from each or our member chambers. Legislative Aides Luncheon: This event honors a staffer from each of our city, county and state representatives. This event enables us to thank the hard working staffer s that make government work. State of the County: This event provides an opportunity for a briefing with an interactive question and answer session with the two sitting Los Angeles County Supervisors who represent the United Chambers’ geographical region. LAPD Captain’s Luncheon: This luncheon creates an opportunity to meet and interact with the Command staff of the Los Angeles Police Department from the various divisions and bureaus that are represented in the valley. Annual Mega-Mixer: This mega-mixer provides a networking opportunity in a single location for any and all of our member chambers and their members to come together for food, fun and networking.
